About Us
OM SATTVA CHARITABLE TRUST, is a public charitable Trust, registered under Indian Trust Act 1882, having its office at 60 MIG, Janakpuri Bareilly U.P.
The primary objective of the trust is to provide affordable health services to the underprivileged section of the society, who have no means to take care of their health requirements. Keeping this in mind, the trust started operating in Bareilly District of Uttar Pradesh in the localities where the basic health services and medical facilities have not reached. The trust used to organize health camps in such areas with the help of some good hearted and generous doctors and citizens.
Mr Sanjeev Kumar Pandey, The Founder President of the trust had been working in the health sector since 1996. He observed that the health services are very costly and it is not affordable for the people who are living their lives in poverty. Government health services were not sufficient to take care of their health requirement. This inspired Mr. Pandey to form a charitable trust in 2007 for the welfare of poor people. The trust started functioning to provide health services to the needy people of the nearby areas with the limited resources. Since the intention was clear and cause was so noble, many good hearted people came forward to help.
This was the time, when everyone was talking about the Vision 2020 : The right to sight, which was initiated by the World Health Organization in the year 2005 for the prevention of blindness with the aim to eliminate the main cause of avoidable blindness by 2020. This Vision 2020 boosted the thought process of Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Pandey, as he was associated with many prominent eye surgeons and felt that Right to Sight should be a basic right of an individual. He knew that with timely and proper care of the eyes, the blindness can be prevented or lost vision can be restored. Therefore he decided to participate in the mission of Vision 2020 for the prevention of blindness.
Keeping this in mind “Kailash Eye and General Hospital” was established in 2007 under the flagship of Om Sattva Charitable Trust. The basic aim of this hospital was to provide affordable health services in the areas of eyes and general health to underprivileged people of Bareilly and its nearby villages. This 20 bed hospital is equipped with the modern machineries and Operation Theaters for Eye and General surgery, fully equipped pathology laboratory, well trained paramedical staff and qualified Doctors.
A small seed which was planted in the year 2007 has become a huge tree today and helping many needy people. Today this hospital, under the banner of Om Sattva Charitable Trust is providing free or very low cost treatment to the needy patients. Cataract and other General operations are being carried out free of cost to Ayushman Card holders. Hospital staff helps the patients to get the Ayushman Card, who does not have this. With the help of sponsorship programs, the Trust is organizing free eye camps in different locations and providing free services to those also who are not beneficiary of any Government Schemes. The trust is successfully running “ मिशन रोशनी”, And “ मिशन सम्पूर्ण स्वास्थ्य” through Kailash Eye and General Hospital.
In this modern time, where people are running to earn their bread and butter and have no time to take care of their health, where it has become difficult to balance the work and personal life, people are mentally stressed, the trust has come up with an Ayurvedic and naturopathy wellness center to help such people. “ Kailash Ayurvedic Panchkarm and Naturopathy Wellness Center” provides free consultations to the patients. This Center is equipped with the state of the art machines, where patients can release their stress.
We have come a long way and providing the best possible treatment and advice to the poor and needy people of far flung areas, however, with the limited resources, we could not achieve what we aimed for due to the limited resources. We have an objective to make the poor patients feel this institution, a place where they can walk in without any fear of having to pay large sum of money for their treatment. It is our belief that socially and financially underprivileged people of society also have the right to get proper and timely health care. We also know that we are not alone in this mission and we will surely get support from all corners of our society and we are confident that we will continue to do the good work and keep serving our community.
